We made a whole weekend out of it by going to Great Wolf Lodge. What else does a parent do when her kid loves the water, but was born in the middle of winter? Of course you go to an indoor water park!
It was a blast - the one downside, my camera battery died after one picture! So we used our phones, and spent more time enjoying, instead of capturing!
On his actual birthday, we got to celebrate at my parents, for our weekly dinner night. Which allowed me to spend the day preparing a special cake - Lightning and Mater - and the dessert road of Rt 66. Thanks to a great friend, I got to borrow a wonderful cake pan, and just went for it.
Luckily four-year-old critics aren't too bad. The cake was a hit.
But then again, presents tend to take over all other things, what's a mama to do?
Here's to a new year with my wonderful first born. Hopefully we'll learn lots this year as it promises to be filled of new adventures and chances to grow! Happy Birthday Wyatt.
